Employment Support Services (ESS) Public Statement on Affirmative Action Changes

At Employment Support Services (ESS), our mission has always been to support individuals with disabilities and foster inclusive workplaces that empower all individuals to thrive. While the recent changes to federal affirmative action requirements for government contractors have shifted certain obligations, ESS remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across all industries.

We believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce benefits everyone. It creates innovative solutions, drives productivity, and fosters understanding. These values are not just regulatory requirements to us—they are integral to the work we do every day.
Here is ESS’s position on these changes:
  1. Commitment to DEI: Regardless of federal mandates, ESS will continue to advocate for and support programs that promote workplace inclusion and opportunity for underrepresented groups, particularly individuals with disabilities.
  2. Partnerships with Employers: ESS will work with employers to ensure their hiring practices remain inclusive and free from discrimination. We will also provide education and training to help businesses maintain compliance with existing federal anti-discrimination laws.
  3. Focus on Collaboration: While the federal landscape may evolve, we encourage businesses to collaborate with organizations like ESS to build workplace environments that reflect the diverse communities they serve.
  4. Protections Still Exist: ESS reaffirms that federal laws prohibiting workplace discrimination remain in place. We will continue to help individuals understand their rights and provide employers with the tools to build equitable practices.

At ESS, we see this moment as an opportunity to double down on our mission, demonstrating that creating equal opportunity is not only the right thing to do but also good for business and society. We invite other businesses and community members to join us in ensuring that inclusivity remains at the heart of our work and workplaces.

Together, we can ensure that equal opportunity remains a cornerstone of employment across Nevada and beyond.
