Soft Skills Workshops are held monthly in-person. Virtual workshops are based on demand and can be requested by NV Vocational Counselors. 

SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION WORKSHOP

Our workshop equips participants with the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe and respectful workplace. Key topics include:

BEGINNER ADMIN WORKSHOP & SKILLS TESTING

This Workshop is for individuals seeking to launch an administrative career, bridge skills gaps, and explore career opportunities. Here are the skills we cover:

Schedules are available to start bi-weekly excluding weeks with major holidays and are based on demand.

BEGINNER ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS TESTING

Our Beginner Administrative Skills Testing is designed for individuals looking to assess their readiness for entry-level administrative positions. This comprehensive evaluation ensures participants possess the foundational skills necessary to succeed in beginner administrative roles.

  • Duration: Up to 2 hours.
  • Components: Includes a written exam, practical, and a typing proficiency test.
  • Outcome: Participants receive a detailed report with results and tailored recommendations to support their career goals.

This skills test is an excellent tool for identifying strengths and areas for improvement, helping individuals prepare for success in administrative roles.

LEVEL UP CAREER SKILLS WORKSHOP

The Level Up Career Skills Workshop is a comprehensive two-week program designed to equip students with real-world skills that employers value. This 25-hour workshop prepares participants for the workforce through engaging and practical sessions, including:

  • SNHD Food Handler’s Card Class: Obtain the necessary certification for food service roles.
  • Job Exploration Counseling: Discover potential career paths and job opportunities.
  • Post-Secondary Education Counseling: Explore educational options to further career goals.
  • Work Readiness Training: Build essential workplace skills, including communication and time management.
  • Self-Advocacy Skills: Learn to advocate for yourself effectively in professional settings.
  • Work-Based Learning Experience: Gain hands-on experience at real-world sites, such as the Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix.

Workshops are offered based on community demand and are held at our Henderson office, EmployNV Career Hub, and Clark County Library locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

SNHD Food Handler Safety Training Class for Individuals with Disabilities

Our SNHD Food Handler Safety Training Class is specifically designed to assist individuals with disabilities in successfully completing the requirements to obtain their Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Food Handler Safety Card. This class includes:

  • Comprehensive Food Safety Training: Clear and accessible instruction on essential food safety practices.
  • Step-by-Step Certification Guidance: Support through the entire process, from preparation to obtaining the card.
  • Practice and Test Preparation: Resources to help participants understand the material and build confidence for the exam.
  • Proctored Exam: On-site or virtual proctoring of the Food Handler Safety test to ensure certification requirements are met.
  • Card Acquisition Assistance: Help with the final steps to secure the card from the Southern Nevada Health District.
  • Accessible Learning Environment: Materials and methods tailored to individual needs for a comfortable learning experience.

FEAR FREE SHELTER CERTIFICATION ASSISTANCE

We provide support to individuals pursuing their Fear Free Shelter Certification, a valuable credential for professionals and pet lovers dedicated to animal care. This certification equips participants with the knowledge and tools to care for both a pet’s physical and emotional well-being, making it highly beneficial for volunteering or working in shelters that prioritize fear-free principles. Our assistance includes:

  • Comprehensive Support: Assistance in understanding course materials focused on reducing stress and fear in animals.
